Fundrise Overview
For almost a century, regulatory barriers made it difficult for individuals to invest in private markets, giving billion-dollar institutions preferred access. The result has been that most investors have been limited to public markets and excluded from private investments—ranging from real estate to venture capital. Technology is finally disrupting this status quo.
Enter: Fundrise, America’s largest direct-to-consumer private markets manager. We built our technology platform to bridge the barrier. Software allows us to achieve the scale of institutions without the bureaucracy. Combining our technology and investment expertise, we are pioneering a new model to build you a better portfolio.

"Slick Tech, Poor Returns"
The Good - The dashboard is great with nice graphs, earning the platform a 5/5 for technology. The Bad - The performance is abysmal. I began investing with Fundrise in early 2019 (before the latest RE boom), and my annualized net IRR has been 2.04%. The Bottom Line - Since early 2019, the annualized US inflation rate has been about 4%. My investment has a negative real return, effectively losing money. The updates are vague, and there is zero insight into individual assets, warranting a 1/5 for communication. If you need transparency or even just average returns as your bare minimum, Fundrise is not the platform.
