We believe in a value-added approach that allows real estate sponsors of acquisitions and developments to expand the scope and scale of their real estate endeavors. Our service menu ranges from augmenting the in-house equity sourcing of mid-size, well established developers and owners, to co-sponsorship with small and mid-sized sponsors who recognizes that by partnering with Forterra they can focus on the area where they create the most value – finding and operating their real estate investments. Over the years our partners have recognized that our approach expands their project size, deal volume and profitability, resulting in enduring partnerships to our mutual benefit. Our focus is on partners who have a unique market or product expertise and a compelling project story relative to market dynamics. While we are always attentive to product cycles and local market demands, we are largely open to any product type.
Our investments can typically be characterized in two groups - stabilized, cash flow properties with strong return and value growth potential, or value-added developments, redevelopments and acquisitions with shorter investment duration and returns commensurate with the risks inherent in the projects.
