Founded in 1980 by Michael Lynd Sr., LYND is a long-standing real estate investment, development, and property management firm headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. The company has grown from a small management operation into a national platform with decades of experience across residential, multifamily, and large-scale urban projects. Over its history, LYND has developed, owned, and managed tens of thousands of units while executing complex acquisitions, distressed debt purchases, and value-add development strategies.

LYND’s investment arm began in 2001 with the launch of Lynd Residential Properties Fund I, followed by multiple subsequent funds as earlier vehicles successfully deployed capital. The firm expanded into institutional partnerships, acquiring significant portfolios including $1 billion in unpaid principal notes in 2010 and later leading the investment group that purchased Chicago’s iconic John Hancock Center in 2014. Its track record includes ground-up high-rise developments, large multifamily community acquisitions, and affordable housing initiatives for underserved populations, including veterans.

Today, LYND continues to operate as a vertically integrated real estate sponsor with in-house expertise in property management, acquisitions, development, operations, and asset strategy.
